I'm sure many of you have been wondering where we have gone... with no current blogging going on, I was wondering myself... we have been super busy with shows and creating! And.... we are moving our site store and blog so we will be sending out more details in the very near future. We launched our very own Etsy shop this past week and have already been selling holiday jewelry pieces. We will also be selling at a Holiday Festival at the Kingwood Senior Center on Saturday, November 19th from 10am until 2pm. Lots of new goodies and discounts galore as we attempt to sell all of our holiday inventory. So mark your calendars and come out to enjoy 4 hours of wonderful holiday shopping.

Change in Plans

This just in. . .  our planned show event for September 16-17 in Magnolia has been temporarily postponed due to the drought. As of today, the planners are targeting later this fall for the Motor Madness Event so check back often and watch for a new date.

We are still on schedule for the Military Appreciation Day event on Saturday, September 10th at the Kingwood Harley Davidson Dealership so try to come on out and join in those festivities!

Our Second September Event

Benefiting Health Care for Everyone is the focus of the next event the Divas will be participating in during the month of September. I realize this is over a month away but we want everyone to mark their calendars and try to attend this worthy event!
We will be vendors at the Magnolia Motor Madness, Friday-Saturday, September 16th and 17th, at the tractor pull grounds, 30840 Nichols Sawmill Rd., Magnolia, Texas.
This 2-day event will be raising funds for the TOMAGWA Health Care Ministries that assists anyone in need with quality medical care. When the promoters contacted us, we were so excited about participating that we said we would be there to help out the cause.

The Divas will once again have a vendor booth with lots of custom designed jewelry, health care ID bracelets and pendants, and our line of Funky Divas Hair Feathers that we will be applying with purchase at our booth. In addition, we will be donating 10% of our sales to the TOMAGWA organization for their work in the community. Please plan to come out and join everyone for an exciting weekend of fun for the entire family. On Friday evening there will be a Nitro Crackelfest Show, modified truck and tractor show and a monster truck show with rides through both days. Saturday will feature a parade, antique tractor show, more crackelfest events all afternoon, hot tractors and trucks and another monster truck show to conclude the evening events on Saturday. With over 300 entries and more than 10,000 attendees, this promises to be an awesome event. New Events for September

Wow- another call today to participate in yet another event this fall... all thanks to our listing with festivals-and-events.com

The Divas are so excited about getting involved in these upcoming events especially since both are for raising funds for very worthy causes. The first will be held Saturday, September 10th from 11a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Kingwood Harley Davidson. This is the 2nd Annual Military Appreciation Day celebration sponsored by HelpingOurMilitary.org

The goal for this event is to raise $150K to build a special home for a wounded G.I. The Divas will be there selling custom designed jewelry, some military celebration pieces, and available to apply Funky Diva Hair Feathers that attendees purchase. In addition to donating a unique piece of fine custom jewelry, we are also donating 10% of sales to the "House-Building" fund.

Please plan to come on out and show your appreciation to our US Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, National Guard, Coast Guard, ROTC, SR ROTC, and the Veterans from Foreign Wars.

This event will include a variety of vendors, BBQ, bands, speeches from American Military Heros, Games for kids and adults, Letters for Soldiers, Military Vehicles, Classic Cars & Bikes on Display, and much more fun for the whole family!!!

When searching for a new design for updating the look of our blog, it seemed appropriate to choose images of money scattered across the background. With all of the financial woes are country is facing these days, the Divas want to do their part to help manage your spending. That's why we created a new addition on our Facebook page called "Shop Now". When you click on the Shop Now link in the left hand column, you will be transported through cyberspace to our online Shop where you can browse some of the latest additions to our collections. When you click on the Like Us buttons, you will be able to purchase any of the items on our Facebook Shop AND receive a 10% discount. We set up PayPal as the option for purchasing from our Facebook Shop to make your purchasing experience hassel-FREE! We won't post all of our products in this shop but will be adding new designs each week with at least 12 items to choose from.

Screaming Divas . . .

Talk about busy! So sorry to be such a bad Diva and not being around for several weeks on the "blog-front" but our lives have been a whirlwind of activity lately. Summer keeps us out a lot and the heat keeps us in the pool not to mention creating like crazy. But I promise to be a good Diva this month and keep you informed as to what has been going on. Just found out today our page has been approved at Festivals-and-Shows.com As an official art/design business, we have been accepted in the vendor listings to make it easy for marketing our original jewelry designs. This is a great find because if you are interested in attending an event, finding vendors for an event, or just want to browse through the many different vendors selling a variety of goods, this site offers a plethora of treats for hobbyists and art enthusiasts. The Divas would like to encourage all of you to check out this site and find something you might like to attend. Not only do they publicize arts and crafts shows, but lots of different festivals and fairs all around the country as well as in Texas.

Test Launch - Need your input!

Whew- this has been a whirlwind 2 weeks of troubleshooting and problem solving as we endeavored to get our site up and running. Everything was ready to go and we ran into a glitch with the URL address. Still have not solved the initial problem so we are using a work-around solution to get the site launched so we can get some feedback from everyone who visits. Problems with new website

Hi friends and loyal followers . . .  thanks for the messages and feedback letting us know there were problems with the Divas website. Gaining access has resulted in errors for many and Google notified us there was a problem with our location mapping so the URL address is not working as expected. So, in addition to designing and sorting through all the new gems and beadery we have been receiving, we are spending quite a bit of time trying to get all the problems fixed so we can try the launch of the new website again. So hang in there and we will be up again very soon. Will send out a new email as soon as we get everything working.

Birthday Blessings

What a wonderful birthday on The Divas Launch Day! All kinds of birthday wishes, calls and cards, a steak dinner, ice cream and cake, and a relaxing swim in the pool. No official business yesterday but we did get a big box full of goodies, and our jewelry we had in a store in New Mexico finally arrived. In addition to the online store we will be setting up a display at Charlies Place in Humble next week. Still organizing the studio and plan to start firing precious metal clay pieces next week while we wait for the Steampunk embellishments to arrive. Busy times in the studio and anywhere else we can find a spare countertop to work on.

Kidz Line coming soon . . .

While swimming in the pool this afternoon we were brainstorming new ideas and discussing what's next for our design collections. Our youngest diva, Emiley, has been hard at work sketching and assembling. Her experimentation with new beads and methods is fast evolving into her very own line. With the help of her uncle, they suggested we add a kids line of items for the younger set. Em starts junior high in the fall so who better to design for that age group than Emiley. Keep watching for our newest design star and her new line in what we are going to call our Kidz Kollection by Emiley. I can promise everyone . . .  you won't be disappointed! Online Store to Launch

Yeah! All the hard work has paid off and we are ready to launch the new online storefront for The 3 Funky Divas. The site has already been uploaded and published so check it our at:

The official launch date is Kathy's birthday, June 14th, but you can sneak a peak right now. We are starting with our most popular collections that all feature one-of-a-kind designs. We love custom designing pieces so if you have something special you would like us to make, or a color you want matched for that special event, just send us an email to: the3funkydivas@gmail.com

Our grand opening is scheduled for June 27 - July 4 and promises to be a great time of celebration. We are still updating our coupons and discount offers in the shopping cart but you can start planning now when you read what is happening each day during our grand opening.

Feel free to leave comments on either our blog, the website or on our Facebook page so we can continue to customize our site and the pieces we make.

Currently, we are working on a number of new pieces including large nuggets and chunky beaded creations sure to please all ages. We had hoped to have something for a Father's Day special but didn't want to rush just so we could put something on the site when we weren't totally thrilled with a new design. So if you have suggestions or ideas to share for future men's accessories, let us know.

We are also working on our new Steampunk line which is going to be very unique and exciting. We hope to roll that line out sometime this summer so stay tuned for further details.

Wow... we're official!

Springtime Blossoms Necklace & Earrings

Can you believe it? Another 3 weeks have passed and with Spring in full bloom, we have been busy getting "our house" in order and ready for production. Grande Dame Diva, Kathy, is finishing up her last class in the Educational Media Design & Technology master's program at Full Sail University so she is ready to start producing a plethora of tutorial videos to help other crafters design some of their own jewelry. We are finally official now with all our documentation for the 3 Funky Divas to legally conduct business in Texas. We received our business tax license certificate yesterday and now we can begin doing business in full compliance with the tax laws. The Website is almost done complete with a shopping cart and our security badge so that all of our customers can do their shopping in a secure site without the fear of identify theft. We have also set up merchant services so we can take payments by credit card so get ready to "shop 'til you drop" from the comfort of home! So... loyal followers, it won't be long now. Our target date for opening the Website up to our test group is tentatively set for June 15th so stay tuned. Yea Spring!

Can't believe it is already the 2nd week of April and it has been over a week since my last post. Sorry, but have been sooooo busy getting all those little business related tasks done like opening a separate business bank account, applying for our DBA, and the little necessity called a "sales tax license". So now I can say we are getting closer to being an officially recognized business in Texas. Never giving a thought to our business name being an issue when moving to another state, I marched right in to the County Clerk's office with our paperwork done and ready to submit last week. Sat down, the clerk did a computer search and finally informed us that The 3 Funky Divas was an available name in our county. Boy was I relieved because I sure didn't want to have to make a change to our business name now that we were well on our way to having our name on everything. Won't be long now, and we will have a real live online business Website complete with a shopping cart and lots of ways to keep our customer base informed about all the great creations we have to offer. Rain, rain, go away... come again another day...

Hello Monday . . .
dark and dreary here today but green and still blossoming, and the rain and nitrogen from the storm are heaping doses of good stuff onto the ground and flowering beauty. Sometimes it can be really hard to get out from under the nice cozy covers on a dark day such as this but creativity can still flourish even on the gloomy days. Just got a new book on Steampunk- 2nd one in as many days and we can't wait to start fabricating more of our own findings and cold connections. This is going to be so much fun and the possibilities are endless. So if you are also a jewelry designer, look through all of the drawers and boxes of junk in the attic or garage and find all the rusty, old, useless pieces and parts. You will be surprised at how all of those will move your imagination into high gear... no pun intended.

Can't believe it has been 6 days since posting last but trust me, you will be happy to know I have been looking for resources to pass along to our loyal fans that I think you will just love. Our blossoming business . . .

Spring is such a wonderful time of the year with everything beginning to bloom. The beautiful flowering trees and bushes in our yard and all over the Houston area are in full bloom. Lots of lilacs, purples and pinks with vivid greenery everywhere! It's one of the best times of the year to reflect on the beauty around us and a great way to get inspired. I love these colors and have been pouring through photos and idea books to begin developing our new spring line of jewelry and accessories. It never ceases to amaze me . . . what started as a very therapeutic hobby several years ago, has turned into a very creative design business. Not only do I love the development process, I thoroughly enjoy creating all the graphics that we use for our blog, marketing literature, our training videos, and the new Website as well as for the artistic pieces of jewelry that we are busy working on. Can't wait to launch our Steam-Punk line as well as our Spring Blossoms Line. Check back often to watch the ideas explode into one-of-a-kind accents that you'll want to add to your wardrobe.

Yikes... It's March already!

Wow. . .  time sure gets away from us with all the other things going on in our lives. Just finished watching the Martha Stewart Show and it was her kick off for the annual craft month. How many of you knew March is craft month? I'll bet if you checked it out, most of your craft blogs and craft supply companies will have lots of goodies on sale or to try this month that will keep you busy crafting. . .  and what better way to start your trek into spring but to get crafting on some new project. We've provided the link to her show feed because there is a very unique jewelry project using mesh ribbon that I know most of you are just going to love!!! Can't wait to try it out in our studio. Getting to know us . . .

Glad you stopped by to check us out. Now that you're here, let me introduce the Divas . . .

Kathy has been creating art since the age of 2 but then so have Kristin and Emiley. We love making unique and unusual works of art to share with family and friends. So... why not expand our creativity to include others. Thus, our business was born.

We welcome custom orders, and often repair broken pieces. In addition to design, we love to repair or replicate a lost piece of vintage history so don't hesitate to contact us for special requests. We plan to offer workshops to teach others but for now just follow us on the blog to see what cool things are happening. We will be adding short training videos with how-to tips and techniques for others to use. If you have ideas for anything instructional that you would like to see, just drop us a line to our email or add comments to the blog.

Creativity: Day 1

Wow... so here we are... day 1 of our new blog. Glad you came to visit and check us out. We are primarily jewelry designers but also dabble in lots of creative activities so check back often. The following video is our first promotional marketing tool created as a course activity at Full Sail University. We used GarageBand to create the music, iMovie to produce the video, and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for all of the graphics. It's just a sneak peak of what you can expect to see in the coming days. Enjoy!
